Creativity is the reflection of nature in us

The title comes from the TED talk by Ethan Hawke.

Creativity speaks to us always in a natural setting. It’s not forced. Her voice is smooth and sometimes it comes when we are not expecting.

Humans seem to have creative sparks when they immerse themselves in nature. You look at the star-filled sky and feel the vastness of the universe as a whole. And you feel humbled by the idea that the universe is in you, and you are the universe.

That’s when it’s clear to you — everything — so that you can see and hear as “it is”.

That clarity is what you need for your creativity.

There is another layer to the relationship between creativity and nature. If you are part of nature, you have nature in you.

And your inner nature speak through the sparks you see and feel in your daily life. It occurs in those moments of excitement: goosebumps and tingling feeing on your skin. These are moments of love’s subtle but grand self revealing.

What to do next? Follow what you love. That’s how you will know yourself. And what you love is the little seeds that buried in you. Let it grow out. Nurture it, and let it be part of the world.

A tree doesn’t ask why it’s there. It grows, spreads its leaves, follows its nature — inside and outside. It doesn’t care what others think of itself. It’s there. Its existence is all that matters.

The same goes for your yourself, your work, and your creativity.
