Choose your shit sandwich

Everything in life has the part that pushes you away from it. You are not choosing what you love to do, but which shit sandwich you are willing to eat.

We all love the good part of our chosen creative path: the joy and freedom, the lights and shades, the touches and moves of the thing you love, the glamour of rare success, and its afterglow.

These are the things we see, on the packages of the box, the features on the glorified, tempting ads. But the path of any creative soul is a roller coaster with the unevenly distributed high and low. And the good parts contain in the highs and not the lows.

The only possibility to go on with the ride depends on one condition:

You must love it so much that nothing can keep you away from it.

The blocks, the droughts, the doubts, the endless failures of any kind, the disbeliefs in and out…

Do you love what you choose to do so much, that you can endure all of that?

To borrow the idea from Mark Manson: choose your favourite flavour of shit sandwich, because “everything sucks, some of the time.”
