If everyone is special, no one is special.
The point is not simply to say “everyone is special”. The important point is to realise that I am special to myself and to the people who mean a lot to me; at the same time to remember that it’s the same case for everyone else.
They are special, and should feel special, first and foremost to themselves, then to the people they care about.
In my own subjective world, not everyone is equally special. Because then the word loses its meaning. Realising and remembering it’s the same case for everyone else is what brings me peace of mind, for we are each our own universe, and all our universes combine into the objective universe that contains us.
